Hands on cultural experience – AJ Sustainable Sacha WarmiKuna women project
For lunch, we’ll head to Pijal, a small village located in the heart of the Andes. There, we’ll visit one of our sustainable projects: Sacha WarmiKuna (women from nature). This fantastic effort developed alongside local women aims to show the best of the Andean culture while supporting the women who live there. Once in Pijal, you will experience an unforgettable cultural encounter. You’ll immerse yourself in the true spirit of the South American woman. First, you’ll learn about their skills for textiles and a deep culinary knowledge passed down for generations. Then, you’ll help with the preparation of “Aji”, a local spicy sauce, part of their identity. Then, be part of a traditional culinary experience with freshly harvested products. Later, we will learn more about other crafts and traditions.
Don’t miss the amazing opportunity to buy their handmade scarves, and take a little piece of them with you.
We will arrive back in Quito in the late afternoon.
