TRIP OVERVIEW
The Llanganates National Park protects 219,707 ha of Andean primary forest that is between 1,200 and 4,500 m high. It is strategically located in the southern section of the Cóndor Bioreserve, a network of reserves that includes the Antisana Ecological Reserve, the Cayambe-Coca National Park, and the Sumaco-Napo-Galeras National Park, in the Central-North zone of Ecuador. We will start our journey around 5am and arrive in Baños de Agua Santa at 9:30 am. We will start our biking activity in the Llanganates National Park at 10:30 am (Cycling activity level: moderate, mostly downhill, the first 45 minutes, uphill and then downhill). You will ride on cobblestone and dirt roads for the first few two hours and 1 hour on asphalt. At 15:00 we will have our Lunch and at 16:30 pm approx. return to Quito.
Cycling time: 3 hours
Cycling distance: 20 miles (32.18 km)
Elevation gain: 500 feet (152 meters)
Minimum elevation on the bike: 5500 feet (1676 meters)
Maximum elevation on the bike: 10450 feet (3185 meters)
NOTE: In case you want to avoid the climb, there will always be the support of our driver, who will be happy to transport you until you decide to join the cycling group.
Meals included: Lunch.
NOTE.– Minimum 2 people to run the tour!
