The authentic sites of South America’s most-popular country, Peru, come to life before your eyes on Peru Express. The highlight of your Peru Express Tour will be, of course, the Seventh Wonder of the World, Machu Picchu. Also, you will sample the delights of the capital, Lima. You will walk on the cobblestone streets of Cusco and view the incredible landscapes of the Sacred Valley of the Incas.
ITINERARY
From the moment you arrive in Lima, a team member from Adventure Journeys will be waiting for you at the airport and will transfer you in private transport to your hotel. The rest of the day is free for you to relax and enjoy the vibrant city of Lima and its surroundings.

Upon your arrival in Cusco, a team member from Adventure Journeys will be waiting to greet you at the airport. From there, we’ll head to Chinchero, where you’ll spend around 30 minutes visiting a local textile workshop. Here, you’ll witness a cultural demonstration led by local artisans, offering insight into their ancestral weaving techniques and traditions.
After the visit, we will continue our journey to your hotel in the Sacred Valley, where you’ll have the remainder of the day to rest and acclimatize.

Now we will head to Urubamba, where we will stop for about 45 minutes for lunch (not included). After approximately 30 more minutes of travel, we will arrive at the stunning Inca town and archaeological site of Ollantaytambo. Once the royal estate of the Inca emperor Pachacuti, who conquered the region and built this town and ceremonial center, Ollantaytambo is a marvel of Inca architecture and engineering.
We will spend about an hour exploring these magnificent ruins, including the impressive Temple of the Sun and the massive carved stone blocks crafted by Inca master stonemasons. Ollantaytambo also showcases remarkable agricultural engineering with stone water sources, canals, and terraced fields organized by elevation to create microclimates for crop experimentation.

Then we will pass through the gates of the archaeological site of Machu Picchu. Here you will start your guided walking tour with an experienced and very knowledgeable guide. Our tour of Machu Picchu will last approximately two hours and will take you to see all the most famous and spectacular parts of the extensive archaeological complex. These include the House of the Guardian, Intihuatana, the Temple of the Sun, the Sacred Plaza, and other key locations.
(It will depend on the circuit determined by the Ministry of Culture)
And while we walk, we will have spectacular views of the agricultural terraces of Machu Picchu and of the surrounding mountains and deep gorges.
Once we have finished our tour of Machu Picchu, we will take the bus back to Aguas Calientes, where you can relax and have lunch (own expense) before boarding the train back to Poroy and Cusco. Upon arrival at the station at approximately 7:00 p.m., we will be waiting for you to take you back to your hotel in Cusco, where you will be able to remember your incredible tour of one of the most famous and impressive attractions in the world.
