This magical packages are perfect for biking lovers that want to explore the diversity of the Andes, just outside of the capital of Ecuador enjoy biking the slopes of Imbabura volcano, explore small authentic villages full of customs and traditions and discover the hidden secrets of the Andes walking around Otavalo, the largest handicraft market in South America.
It is going to take us 2 hours to reach the beginning of the glacier of Cayambe volcano at 15,000ft (4500mt). This is the only volcano on earth whose summit is crossed by the equator line and the only snow-capped mountain directly on the equator. We will start our adventure with a short hike to the glacier, then we will bike down the slopes of this magical mountain to reach the middle of the inter-Andean valleys. Later in the afternoon, we will be transferred to the slopes of Imbabura volcano to enjoy a cultural encounter with local people and learn their traditional way of living. Our accommodation for the night will be a homestay at different local families of the San Clemente community.
Meals included: Lunch, Dinner.
After a family breakfast, we will start our day driving along the slopes of Imbabura volcano, taking our bikes up to the mountains with stunning views of the Andean valleys and lakes, like San Pablo Lake, considered one of the largest lakes in the highlands of Ecuador.
Our bikes will run along a small path going across the Imbabura and Cubilche volcanoes, to reach the San Pablo Lake for 35 miles on flat, up- and downhill trails, to finally arrive at the town of Otavalo where we explore the largest market we have in South America, with its colorful, handmade articles.
