Discover the Ecuadorian Cloud Forest with this two-day biking and hiking adventure! Enjoy this eco-friendly trip while riding high-quality mountain bikes from the high Andes into a beautiful forest full of diversity, spend a night in an eco-lodge and explore the rich nature while hiking the path to the seven waterfalls.

ITINERARY

In the morning you will be picked up from your hotel, we will drive for 45 minutes up to the foothills of the Pichincha Volcano; we will start our biking adventure at 11,260 feet with magnificent views of the Andean fields, as we descend we will see how the vegetation changes from bushes to high trees, this route is known as Ruta del Quinde, that means The Hummingbird Route, so you have great chances for viewing colorful birds along the ride, our day included a picnic that would be served on the way, and in the afternoon we will arrive to the lodge.

After breakfast we will drive to the Mindo Nambillo reserve, and take a Tarabita “cable car” to reach the trail in the middle of the forest. We start hiking on an irregular terrain on a dirt path, your guide will help you find some wildlife. This reserve is very well known for having hundreds of bird species, including toucans, parrots, quetzals, and some others that have made Mindo one of the top destinations for birdwatchers in South America. This path is also known as the seven waterfalls as you will see many on your way. It is possible to take a quick bath to refresh yourself before leaving this magical place. Lunch will be on your own, and later you can do optional activities like going to the butterfly farm, chocolate factory, zip lining, or tubing.

 Verified Amazing 10 day Ecuador land trip with Alfonzo
We had a wonderful 10 day trip exploring Ecuador with our guide, Alfonzo. He was knowledgeable, enthusiastic and fun. We learned about the history and culture of Ecuador and heard personal stories about Alfonzo’s family and life in Ecuador and the Galapagos. We hiked mountains, visited historic sites, hot springs and the Amazon and ate local food (including grubs!). We lucked out and our friends and us (4 people) were the only partipants on our tour so we got extra attention and could help shape our experience more. Also, Alfonzo’s knowledge of the English language is impressive. He even got our jokes and joined in. I would strongly recommend using Adventure Journeys and ask for Alfonzo for your Ecuador land tour.

 Verified Wonderful Quito visit
Sol our guide gave us a wonderful taste of Quito and the surrounding area. We visited a biscotti making business, the equator solar museum, a colourful market in an Andean town, another town that sold leather and finally visited a waterfall On a second day we had a walking tour of historic Quito. She was an excellent guide with great humour and very friendly and helpful to all our group

 Verified Ecuador Is Incredible.
Such a great trip! Alfonso was our guide -- he is fantastic. The itinerary gives you a pretty good overview of Ecuador. My favorite days were those we spent in the Amazonian forest near Tena, hiking on Chimborazo, and exploring Cuenca. We were able to stay in a couple of haciendas -- those were wonderful.
